trellis islands at the eastern entrance area
About this project:
This impressive building features four L-shaped building columns whose form suggests an open book. A wooden deck "esplanade" connects the buildings together. The deck is enormous in scale with seating and views of the nearby Seine and Paris skyline. The building is connected to the opposite side of the river via the new Passeralle Simon Deauvoir pedestrian bridge and while also anchoring the Rive Gauche mixed use development located to the southwest of the library. A sunken forest with mature trees is centrally located.
