About this project:
The juxtaposition of an old church designed by Franz Heinrich Chechen in the 1890s and a 1950s era church of a very different design provides an interesting counterpoint that symbolizes rebirth following WWII that destroyed most of the old church that was preserved in its ruin as a memorial and rebirth symbolized by the new church designed by Egon Eierman on the same site.
